Skate Rules

The purpose if this mobile application is to allow for pre-registration for Crystal Fieldhouse public hockey events such as Drop-In Hockey and Stick N Puck. By pre-registering here, it allows others and us to see the number of skaters committed to coming to the skate. Those who preregister here will have priority over walk-ins if the event fills to capacity. Repeatedly registering to events and not showing up, as well as breaking other rules may result in being put in the "Penalty Box" and unable to book skates further until worked out with Crystal Fieldhouse staff.

The following rules are in affect for all hockey players participating in Crystal Fieldhouse public hockey events:

  1. For Drop-in Hockey, full equipment including helmet, gloves, skates, stick, shin pads, pants, elbow pads, and chest protector is required. These will not be provided to you by the rink.
  2. For Stick N Puck, partial equipment including helmet, gloves, skates, and stick is required.
  3. Payment is required before the event and before entering the locker room, no excuses.
  4. No inappropriate behavior such as vulgar language, taunting, harassment, spitting, and any other form of abusive behavior. No aggressive play such as checking, slashing, pushing, fighting, and anything else deemed dangerous towards the health of others or yourself.
  5. No skating on the ice while ice resurfacing equipment is on the ice.
  6. No puck hogging and no ice hogging. Involve all teammates regardless of how good or bad they are, and limit your time on the ice to what is appropriate for the number of skaters participating. If there is a sizable bench, try not to stay on the ice for over a couple of minutes.

These events are intended to be fun and enjoyable for all participants. Thus, repeated offenses of the skating rules may result the removal of your rights to participate in public hockey events and possible expulsion from the rink.
